HORSE TOTEM
Horse brings to us: Stamina, endurance, faithfulness. It symbolizes freedom when it runs free; when
it works with humans,it represents friendship and cooperation. Travel, journey, swiftness, friends, loyalty. Astral travel.
Companion and guardian when traveling. Guides to over come obstacles.
Check for possible danger in a situation.

To call HORSE Chant:
Pounding hooves, tossing mane,
Take me swiftley on my life's journey.
Loyal friend, carry me to a place of safety.
Lift me over obstacles in my path.
Horse first came to me as a child. I was a lonely child and would imagine myself riding
freely with the wind in my face on a beautiful stallion. As I got older and learned to read I discovered the public
library. I would read every story written about the horse and more than once. "The Black Stallion " was
my favorite and still is. I would ride my imaginary horse when if I could , galloping through the yard and at
recess. I would form my hands during class to make a horse and make it rear. Needless to say I got in a lot of
trouble. When I found out I could draw that was all I would draw. Yep, class too. So as far back as
I can remember horse was my first totem unknown to me. I finally owned a horse " Gypsy's Fandango".

Dog
Dogs have always been apart of my life. They give unconditional love and loyalty no human can ever
give. Dog is a companion and devoted to pleasing you and giving you comfort when things are bad. I own two Italian
Greyhounds that are my life. They give me strength to go on each day and inspire me to overcome my physcial handicaps.
They are the reason I get up each day.

LION

Lion has long be a friend of mine since 1975.
The lion came to me during a time of much stress and worries and failing health. I had horse with me and
owned Fandango but lion was so strong also. I collected lions , dreamed lions, drew lions and did not know why.
The lion was giving me its attributes for it knew I needed and would need it in the future.
They are: strength, courage, energy. Lion brings releasing of stress and
tension. Teach you to learn to relax. Not to carry stress of one situation into another. Strengthen family
ties.
I went through a divorce, struggled to raise my children alone, financial worse,
terrible job and developed Rheumitoid Arthritis all by 1977. In 1980 cancer.
I only made the connection to lion 6 years ago when I realized what totems are. I
began researching totems and my love of animals and was awed at what I found . It represents the sun, earth, color gold and
fire .
Lion walks on my right side.
Chant:
Creature of the Sun Lord, beloved of the Lady,
Revel to me the ancient methods of magick.
Walk beside me as I grow in strength and courage.
Show me when to keep ties strong and when to break them.
Help me to understand the times for work and times for rest.
Mighty lion, lead me your energies.
Dragon Totem

| My first encounter with my totem |
Dragon came to me in 96.
I had been collecting them for a time and of course did not know why. The painting was a vision I had and then
healing began.
Dragon brings protection, instruction in the spiritual, Element magick. Using the spiritual
to transform life. Protection in all forms. Adds extra power to magick.
Chant
Dragons strong and dragons bright,
Dragons full of wisdon old,
Teach to me the spiritual light,
Let me walk with knowledge bold.
Dragon fire, lift me higher.
Black Panther Totem

Black Panther is my life long totem. He/she is
aways there when I need Panther medicine.

Eagle Totem

Eagle brings swiftness, strength, courage, wisdom,
keen sight, knowledge of magick. The ability to see hidden spiritual truths. Seeing the overall pattern to life.
Rising above the material in search of spiritual direction; connecting with poweful spiritual beings. Creating a stronger
connection with spirit guides and teachers, dieties . Eagle appears on my mural.
Chant
Great wings outstretched in the wide skies,
The eagle soars, majestic, bold.
My heart cries out to the wise sky-travler.
He hears my plea.
Illumination and truth come to me as his blessing.
OWL TOTEM

 The owl is a life time totem. I have a large
collection of owls as pictures and figurines. You will see owl in my murals. The barn and snowy are my favorites.
Owl medicine brings :
Silent and swift movement; keen sight into obscure events; unmasking those who would decieve
you. In meditaition it often is a guide to and from the Otherworld. Wisdom, magick, darkness, freedom.
A messenger of hidden truth, secrets, and omens, Moon magick. Wisdom to make positive changes.
Chant
Soft darkeness of night, a time of deep magick,
Your realm, great owl whose eyes see reality in the darkness.
I would call up wise and deep magicks,
Magicks bold and strong, creating change.
ORCA TOTEM

 Orca is my life long totem bring medicine and travel
when needed. You will see orca on my mural.
He brings attributes of :
The sea, music, long life, family, friends, trust. Whale
helps you to develope psychic and telepathic abilities. Using sound and music to balance and heal. To learn
new magick. Working with Element magick.
Chant
Graceful music, poweful, bold,
Rise up from the oceans cold
As the whales sing out their song
To all creatures who belong
To the Earth and Sky and Sea.
Lend your joyfulness To me.
RAVEN TOTEM

Raven is a messenger totem and came at a very dark time in
my life. I am proud to have honored Raven on my mural. Raven helped with its medicine and is represented
in the paintings of that period of my life.
Raven medicine attributes are:
Help with divination. Often represents the upset in life necessary to create something new.
Wisdom, eloquence, magick. A change in consciousness. Messages from the spirit; something unforeseen but special
is about to occur. Magick of the crone. Divination.
CHANT
Wings so black it shines like Moon at midnight,
O raven strong, hear my cry
Teach me old magick, poweful, bold,
O Raven, eloquent and wise.
HAWK TOTEM

Hawk is a message totem to me. I see the red_tail hawk
around my area. I have had them come down to land near always it brings medicine. I have been
on walks and there at my feet will be a red_tail hawk feather.
Hawk medicine attributes are:
Clear sighteness; being observant. Far memory, or recalling past lives. A message
from the spirit; omens and dreams. Overcoming problems. Taking advantage of an opportunity.
The cry of a hawk in a meditation is a warning of upcoming situtations that will require boldness and decisiveness.
Courage, defense, wisdom, illumination, new life, creativity, truth, esperience. Getting a larger over-view so you can
make better decisions.

Hawk of wisdom, creativity.
Seeking, hover, bright Sun-lover,

Peacock Totem
Peacock/Peahen's Wisdom Includes:

The peacock's eye I see before me,
A door to present, future, past,
A guide to divination ture,
A spiritual power that will last.
My inner eye is like the peacock's,
Open to the tide of life,

Cougar/Mountain Lion/Puma's Wisdom Includes:

For the Zunis of Turtle Island (Southwest United States), Cougar was the Master Hunter, known for its high intelligence,
its knowledge of other animal and life forms, its physical prowess, its strength of will, and its intuitive ability. Cougar
sees the maintenance of its territory as essential for its survival. Poshaiankia, the father of the Medicine Societies, designated
Cougar the duty of carrying messages from humans to the higher spirits, because of this animals personal power, superior knowledge,
strength of will, and steadfastness. Therefore, Cougar represents the link between ourselves and the most powerful spirits
in Zuni Mythology: Mother Earth, Father Sky, and the Originator of All.

Muscles rippling, free on the mountains,
Great cat of cunning, hunting and seeking,
Teach me quietness and stealth of purpose.
