HEMATITE DRAGON

Hematite Dragon

There is little knowledge of this dragon.  I only discovered  it recently when in a meditation I decended down deep in the earth.  Going deeper and deeper I entered a dark cavern. When I could see clearly I was shocked to find the most beautiful silvery black Dragon.  It was male and very old.  His wings were set close to his body and the bony structure was silver. His neck was shorter then most dragons and legs smaller in front then in back. He has 4 toes on each foot. He had two large horns and down his back was silver. His head was blunt at top and a sort of rounded snout. He is a heavy dragon and solid looking as if he could not fly for the heftiness of him. It was the scales that caught my eye. The silvery black sheen was that of the  crystal stone Hematite. I knew at once I was looking upon a rare and ancient dragon.

This dragon lives in the depths of valcanos and deep in iron rich mountains.
His breath is fire.
His Element is: FIRE
Has the characteristics of the Hematite cystal.(see below for discription of hematite)

This dragon is my spirit guide.  He helps me with the physic realm and gives me  protection. He offers healing energy and guides me to what I need to know or do.  He is a bit gruff at times but it is only when I fail to see what he is trying to tell me.  He speaks to my mind with thoughts and images.

My spirit guide in the past has been a man.  Dark and mysterious. black hair and beard and wearing all black with Chain Mail of a silvery color.   I now wonder if that was the human form of the Hematite dragon and has now decided I am worthy of his natural form.   It seems to connect the dots finally.  I believe this dragon may only appear to those who can go into deep meditations.

I am learning more from him as time goes on and hope to have more on this dragon.

Hematite Crystal

I feel it is important to know the aspects of Hematite to understand what this dragon does. I now use hematite when I go into meditation for I feel as if I am touching this mighty dragon and the connection is stronger.

History: Hematite is silver-gray metallic, which is an iron ore (iron oxide Fe2O3). Found in the US, Brazil, and Canada. Hematite is derived from the Greek word meaning "blood". In soft powder or sedimentary form, this crystal is called "red ocher". Egyptians used hematite to calm hysteria and anxiety and was used for amulets. Roman soldiers wore it for protection. The Chinese see hematite as being more Yang in nature. Native Americans used red ochre for ceremonies and for war paint.

Properties of Hematite.  Known as "volcano spit". It is of the iron family. This crystal is the most recommended stone for grounding and is associated with the Root Chakra, by encourages ones survival instincts and is centering. Hematite condenses scattered feelings, turns fuzziness into mental clarity, enhances concentration, memory, practicality, helps those who study, do bookkeeping, detailed work and helps with sound sleep. Considered the symbol of life energy, hematite allows for more confidence, will power and boldness. Helps us adjust to being physical. A protective stone and helps bolster low self-esteem. Hematite is known to deflect negativity. It restores equilibrium, stability and is also used for astral protection. It brings our awareness back to the body and helps one maintain their sense of self. If worn, Hematite should be placed near the base of the spine.

Folk Remedies: Hematite is associated with the Spleen, blood, and cleansing. The iron in this mineral has a strong effect on the blood. Used in supporting the kidney's blood-cleansing function. Recommended for those with anemia. Helps in tissue regeneration. Hematite is given to those who need to regroup after jet lag, stress, birth and anesthesia. Hematite aids absorption of iron in the small intestines and benefits all fluid functions in the body.

Feng Shui: Used in the Center area for balancing and grounding, in the Southeast for self worth and in the Northeast area for self-cultivation.

Since the color is a silvery black it takes on the characteristic of both silver and black.
Black is the most misunderstood color. A black tie dinner is very formal and elegant. Women can wear that "must have little black dress" to the black tie dinner. Yet the bad guys wear black hats. Black symbolizes death in some cultures. Native Americans thought black was good because it was the color of soil, which gives life.
Black is not a color, strictly speaking. It is the absence of all color. When people speak of opposites, it is usually in terms of black and white. Black, and its opposite white, represent polarities. Black absorbs all aspects of light. While white reveals, black conceals. It has come to mean hidden, fearful or bad experience. It is linked to the unknown or the unseen.
